This division comprising Entomology and Pathology is to monitor disease and insect pest’s incidence of the plant genetic resources being conserved at the institute and to investigate and formulate appropriate strategies for their management.

To monitor insect pest’s incidence on crops germplasm with the view of adopting the most viable control measures to ensure their proper management including: assessment of the effects of economic damage levels on yield of some important crop plants. Studies on the biology of very important insects of the plants (crops)

Monitoring of disease and pests incidence, their prevention and control in the field and to investigate seed borne diseases of collections under cold storage.
