Msc. Seed Science and Technology

Mr. Yeboah is an old student of Sunyani Senior High School and also an alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he obtained both his BSc. Agriculture (crops science option) and masters in Seed Science and Technology.

Mr. Yeboah previously worked with the Grains and Legumes Development Board of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture from 2013 to June 2021 where he rose through the ranks to become Senior Development Officer. He was Regional Officer of the Board for Upper East and responsible for the management of seed systems and primary multiplication of foundation seeds stocks of cereals, legumes, roots and tuber crops. He contributed to formal seed distribution systems in Ghana through seed value chain, seed sector development processes, food security and rural development and alternative livelihood projects for smallholder farmers through trainings at the local, national and international levels.

Mr. Yeboah joined the CSIR-PGRRI in July 2021 as Principal Technologist in the Plant Genetic Conservation Division of the Institute where he is serving at the Seed Genebank. His current research focuses on indigenous leafy vegetables and neglected and underutilized crop species such as turkey berries, spider plants, waterleaf and Corchorus olitorius, among others. His objective is not only to find strategies for ex-situ handling of their seeds and promoting them for inclusion in regular cultivation for nutrition and income generation, but also to prevent them from extinction. He is a member of the Ghana Science Association and a leader of GIVE Outreach since 2012.
