Plant Virologist

Fuleratu Karim Adams is currently a Principal Technologist at the CSIR-PGRRI who study viral pathogens that hinder the effective conservation of crop germplasms at the CSIR-PGRRI. Then based on genetic information from the host and pathogen, she proposes sustainable management strategies to viral diseases of crop germplasms. She holds an MPhil Degree in Crop Protection with specialization in Plant Virology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, obtained in 2016. She also obtained a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the same institution in 2013. She won a fellowship to train in plant-virus interaction and virus disease diagnosis at the Virology and Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, Nigeria, during her MPhil Degree studies. She is currently the local Research Staff Association (RSA) treasurer at the CSIR-PGRRI
